Been busy the past few months working on more stories and poetry.
Last year, I started on a book with two characters who become stranded on a desert island and meet each other there. It follows Tyler and Molly on their initially separate adventures. Here is a quick summary of the first four chapters.
Tyler washes up on a large island after struggling to stay afloat during a storm. He surveys his surroundings and finds himself on a long sandy beach with a forest and a mountain in the distance. He realizes that he needs shelter, food, and water and remembers reading that the first step in a situation like this is to find shelter. He heads to the forest and finds a clearing with a small stream and builds a lean-to shelter. He faces challenges in building the shelter as he has to learn to use natural materials and new construction techniques. By the end of his first day on the island, he has a basic structure of a lean-to and has discovered signs of devastation on the island.
Tyler wakes up on an island with a parched mouth. He finds water from a nearby stream and looks for food, finding nuts and seeds that taste better mixed with sea water. He discovers banana trees and coconuts along the shore and uses a pocket knife to open the coconuts. He plans to build a signal fire on the beach to attract attention and be rescued. The next day, he builds the fire by transporting hot coals from his campfire to the bonfire site. He waits by the fire but sees no signs of life. He realizes that he needs to explore the island more to find resources to survive.
Tyler walks along a tropical beach and into the interior of the island in search of food. He finds a stream with plenty of fruit and wildflowers. He spends two weeks exploring the island and trying to fish but has no luck. After a tiring day of exploring, he returns to his campfire and takes a nap. Upon waking, he notices his eyes burning and sees a pair of glowing yellow eyes staring at him from the shadows beyond the stream.
Molly is adrift at sea and spots land. She reaches the shore and sees that it is desolate and deserted with no signs of life. She decides to explore the area and find a source of food and shelter. She finds a crevice in the cliff and decides to make it her shelter. She gathers materials and builds a fire. She plans to spend the night in the crevice and hopes to be rescued soon.
I’m also writing some fan fiction about the Angels of Anime.
The first story is about Thalia and Anora. A quick summary:
Two angels, Thalia and Anora, are laughing and flying together as the sun sets. They have a conversation about how they have missed each other, then kiss. Thalia has the ability to control rhythm, while Anora can control illumination. Both angels have powers rooted in light and can use attacks that create bursts of light to stun enemies or take control of their enemies’ light. Their skills can also cancel other magic spells and reflect projectiles.
